Ace AI ("Ace AI", "we", "us") is a study assistant application for Android. This policy explains
what information the app collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
By using Ace AI you agree to this policy.
Who this app is for
Ace AI is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under
13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child
under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in we use Firebase Authentication. Depending on
the method you choose, this is your email address (email sign-up), your Google account identifier and
basic profile (Google Sign-In), or an anonymous account identifier (guest sign-in, no personal details).
- Your study content. Material you create or import — flashcard decks, notes, quizzes,
study plans, exam papers, and study statistics (streaks, review history) — is stored on your device and,
when you are signed in, synced to your private account in Google Cloud Firestore so it is available
across your sessions and devices.
- Content you submit to AI features. When you use an AI feature (chat, generating
flashcards/quizzes/plans/exams, or audio lessons), the text and any document (e.g. PDF) content you
provide is sent to an AI service provider to produce the result. Do not submit information you consider
sensitive or confidential.
- Purchases. If you subscribe to Ace Pro, the transaction is processed by Google Play
Billing. We receive your subscription status (active / not active) but never your card or payment details.
- Advertising data. The free tier shows rewarded ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may access
your device's advertising identifier and information about your interaction with ads. See "Advertising"
below for your controls.
- On-device only (not uploaded to us). Text recognition (OCR) on scanned images,
text-to-speech audio, and PDF rendering all run entirely on your device. Notification reminders are
scheduled locally on your device.
How we use information
- To provide the app's core features and sync your content to your account.
- To generate AI study materials from the content you submit.
- To operate the freemium model — track your daily free usage, honor rewarded-ad credits, and unlock
Ace Pro entitlements.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (for example, verifying requests come from a genuine app
install via Firebase App Check, and rate-limiting AI usage).
- To send study reminders you have enabled.
Service providers and third parties
We share information only with providers that operate the app on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, App Check, and — for the AI backend —
Cloud Functions). See Google's
Firebase privacy information.
- Google AdMob for advertising. See how Google uses data at
policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Google Play Billing for subscription payments.
- AI service providers that process the content you submit to AI features to return a
result. These providers process your submitted content to fulfill the request; we use paid/business tiers
that do not use your content to train their models where available.
We do not sell your personal information.
Advertising and your consent
Free users see rewarded ads from Google AdMob. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United
Kingdom, or Switzerland, we present a consent choice (using Google's User Messaging Platform) the first
time it is required. If you consent, you may see personalized ads; if you decline, you will see
non-personalized ads. You can reset or change this choice at any time from the app's settings. You can
also opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings under Google → Ads.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and synced content for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual
items in the app at any time. To delete your account and all study content associated with it, email us at
the address below with the request — we will delete your account data within a reasonable time.
Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data from your device.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Your synced content is stored in your private, access-controlled
area of Firestore, restricted by security rules so that only your authenticated account can read or write it.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your
information.
International transfers
Our providers (Google) process and store data on servers that may be located in the United States and
other countries. By using the app you understand your information may be processed in these locations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information,
or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete individual study items (notes, decks,
quizzes) directly in the app at any time; for account-level access, correction, or deletion requests,
contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date
above and, where appropriate, notified in the app.
